Our History
We bought these 63 acres in 1988 to start a Christmas tree farm, and we still have 3 acres in trees, although now they are just cut for the greens at Christmas. The gardens and shop started out small in 1994, but have expanded over the years, due to our wonderful visitors telling their friends, and of course God’s continued blessing. Because so many folks express a longing for the peace and quiet of the country, and due to our love of unique Bed & Breakfast facilities, we decided to build that into The Farm experience. My husband, Eric, is a talented and creative carpenter (as evidenced by the interior of the shop, structures in the gardens, Morningstar Tea Room & our home). So, his latest project is The Loft, upstairs in the new barn behind the gardens. It will sleep 6 to 8; have a kitchen, a living area, and splendid views in all directions. We hope to have it done later this year, Lord willing. We also plan to add to our animal collection, and groomed trails, which would offer scenic views over the Sangamon River valley.
